Bonampak is kind of a hassle to get to because there is a monopoly on the transportation to the ruins. You cannot drive yourself and the transport there costs a ridiculous 70p ($7) per person for a 9km drive. We were able to talk the driver down to 50p per person but that is still too much to pay. Then you must pay the entrance fee, so it ends up costing around $10 per person. The site was nice though. Much smaller than Palenque but it had better preserved murals with some color. You can also see the airstrip that used to be the only way to get to the ruins some 10 years ago.
